Death by Chocolate cake

Choc Cake
” I must admit this is one of the best chocolate cakes i have tasted – This cake recipe was given to me by Lythann Emslie- a good cook and not shy to have fun & experiment in the kitchen – i have changed it slightly and added some Orange Zest - this just takes the knock you going to get from all the chocolate .”
18cm square tin or 20cm round tin – (or a chef – use molds )
Oven – Pre-heat to 180 degrees Cent.
Cooking time 1hour 15 mins
The Goodies …..
125g cocoa powder
375ml boiling water
200g unsalted butter, softened
400g light muscovado sugar
300g plain flour
1,5 teaspoons baking powder
3 eggs
1 tsp Orange zest
The Mission…………
1/ Put cocoa & Orange zest into a bowl and gradually whisk in boiling water until smooth. Leave to cool
2/ Beat butter and sugar till creamy. Beat in eggs add a little flour to prevent curdling. Sift remaining flour over bowl with baking powder. Use large metal spoon to fold in flour.
3/ Stir in cocoa mix.
4/ Bake in oven. Check if cooked with skewer -Then leave to cool in tin.
5/ Can be wrapped and stored for 3 days or even frozen
6/ Decorate how you want too.



This is really a winner and thanks for adding the orange zest. YUMMY
What about adding a little coffee to for a change with orange in the icing?
